in Cambridge, after completing a doctoral degree
in medieval church history. St. Luke and St. Margaret’s
Episcopal Church in Allston sponsored her for ordination.

to the rector at The Church of our Saviour, Brookline.
In the spring of 1998 she began her work at St.
Andrew's as parish administrator. In October 2003
she was called to be the associate rector of St.

parish life but has special responsibility in the
areas of liturgical planning and Christian formation.

to preaching and leading worship, Brian provides
pastoral care to families with children, oversees
the Church School and young adult ministries, schedules

his student days at the University of New Hampshire,
and he studied for ordination at the Graduate Theological

and an M.A in Christian Spirituality. Brian has
particular interests in prayer, systematic theology
and western mysticism (especially the writings
of Jacob Boehme). When not at St. Andrew’s,
Brian and his wife Catherine (who is a veterinarian
in Walpole, MA) can be found perusing used-book
stores, walking about New England, drinking good
coffee and enjoying the company of their two cats,
Zephyr and Mulligan. Brian can be reached at brian@standrewswellesley.org.
Wardie Mannix wanted to play
the organ ever since she can remember. Her
Grandfather Sperry, who lived next door, bought
a small organ with half a dozen or so foot pedals
that he put between his office and her Grandmother’s
when she was 11 years old. Her mother said
she sang before she talked, but Wardie wonders
about this claim. She received her BM and
MM degrees in Organ Performance from the New England
Conservatory of Music where she felt like she had ‘died
and gone to heaven’, and spent four years
studying in Europe which was the fulfillment of
many, many dreams. She’s worked as
a lounge lizard at The Boston Harbor Hotel, and
at various other establishments in the Boston area. She
has also taught music for many years at the South
Shore Charter Public School and Derby Academy’s
Summer Arts Program, among other places. She
has previously worked at St. John’s Episcopal
Church in Hingham, and she is very happy to have
been here at St. Andrew’s since September
2007. You can reach her at wardie@standrewswellesley.org
Susan Jackson Roer joined St
Andrews mid-summer of 2007, after having recently
relocated back to Dover where she grew up. As
the Christian Learning Assistant, Susan's primary
areas of responsibility include creating the
teaching schedule, ordering curriculum and supplies,
monitoring and supporting the church school teachers,
and assisting Rev. Brian Rebholtz in various projects
relating to the church school, as well as the middle
school and senior high youth groups.
Susan is glad to be part of the dynamic team
at St Andrews Church, and can be reached at susan@standrewswellesley.org with any questions you might have regarding
the church school program.
Amanda Hammond joined
the St. Andrew’s family in the fall of 2008
as the Youth and Children’s Choir Director.
She has been the high school choral and musical
theater director for the Franklin Public Schools
over the last six years, and will be taking over
as the primary and secondary music teacher at the
International School of Boston in the fall in addition
to her responsibilities at St. Andrews. Originally
from Winnipeg, Canada, Amanda has a Bachelor of
Music degree in voice performance from the University
of South Carolina, and has done graduate work
in music at Boston University and New England Conservatory.
She has been a member of the Tanglewood Festival
Chorus and has performed with the Boston Symphony
Orchestra and the Boston Pops at Tanglewood, Symphony
Hall and Carnegie Hall under the baton of many
conductors including James Levine and Keith Lockhart.

as the Financial Secretary in 2000. She maintains
the financial records for the church along with
the Treasurer. If you have any questions please

Katharine Clark, Parish Administrator,
started in July 2010. The parish administrator’s
most significant responsibilities are: communications,
technology and office management. She oversees
the daily work of the parish office, directs and
coordinates electronic and print communications
projects, actively manages all computer and office
network systems of the parish and serves as a liaison
among the staff, the wardens and vestry, members
of the congregation, and others who contact the
parish office. Katharine grew up in the Religious
Society of Friends (Quakers) outside of Philadelphia.
She moved to New England in 1985 to raise a family
and now calls New England home. She has enjoyed
work and travel, having traveled in the ministry
among Friends (Quakers) across the US and around
the world, believing that face-to-face interactions
breaks down barriers of misunderstanding and builds
trust. Please feel free to contact her at Kate@standrewswellesley.org.
Steve Killeen is starting his
19th year as sexton at St. Andrew’s. As
sexton he is responsible for the daily upkeep of
the church and acts as liaison to the Montessori
School. He lives in Natick with his wife
Nancy and his two sons, Ryan, who is majoring
in criminal justice at Westfield State College,
and Matt, a student at Natick High School.
Ben “The Church Cat” has
been associated with St. Andrew's for most of
his life (he was born in 1994). He began life
in the adjoining household of the Williams family
at the church's apartment building next door,
and because of a personality clash with a sibling,
began to spend more and more time at St. Andrew's,
where he became a familiar presence among the
staff, at parish gatherings (including an occasional
appearance at worship), and at the Montessori
school in the St. Andrew's education wing. When
it became apparent that his primary caretaker,
Joan Williams, was terminally ill, she arranged
with St. Andrew's to assume full responsibility
for Ben's care. Though her friends at St. Andrew's
were very sorrowful when Joan died, Ben made
the transition without any apparent distress,
and has made his home here happily since. He
continues his ministry as one of the most readily
identifiable and popular members of the St. Andrew's
staff, and though he is not emotionally expressive,
nor receptive to extravagant gestures of affection
(don't try to pick him up please), he very much
enjoys contact with parishioners and is a strong
welcoming presence.
